Operations Analyst

Job Summary and Opportunity:
This role is part of the Operations team and offers a unique opportunity to work critical functions of Axos Advisor Services. The team’s goal is to be part of an industry leader by providing a seamless and timely cash management experience for our customers.
The Analyst, Operations-Treasury will primarily be responsible for facilitating cash movement and performing reconciliations for the Advisor Services business. The role requires participating on a team that supports our business and clients. Attention to detail, accuracy and good written and verbal communication skills are essential to the position. Must be a hands-on team player who is able to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously, as well as, remaining focused on the task at hand.
Responsibilities:
  • Initiate wires, ACHs and book transfers
  • Processes returned items and deposits
  • Processes check copy requests
  • Processes stop payments, stale dates and positive pay exceptions for the bank
  • Facilitates ordering of client checks
  • Monitors client check writing submissions
  • Set up new ABA data in host system and make any updates to existing ones
  • Performs daily custodial cash reconciliation and balances system positions to cash positions
  • Reviews daily cash position and updates daily cash position and all supporting worksheets
  • Reviews and analyzes the monthly custodial reconciliation and all supporting worksheets
  • Researches and identifies adjustments to be made and implements the corrective changes
  • Prepares monthly reconciliations and management reports
  • Maintain good relationships with banking partners and work with them to resolve issues
  • Responds to email inquiries
  • Processes exception item postings
  • Manages systems, software and workflow
  • Follows up on all outstanding items and participates in Quality Control processes
  • Is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for team members, other departments and backs up all team members when needed
  • Provides training to new and existing staff including department overviews for those from other departments
  • Identifies and escalates operational emergencies and discrepancies to management
  • Reviews processes and procedures and makes suggestions on how to improve them
  • Other duties and assignments as directed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years' of financial operations experience or equivalent
  • Financial industry knowledge
  • Understanding of cash management/payment functions and products
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
  • Good analytical skills including ability to research, schedule, analyze, and present findings
