About the Role:
The Director of Financial Reporting will play a critical role overseeing financial reporting and technical accounting requirements of Ouro. This position requires a critical thinker with a deep understanding of GAAP accounting concepts and a track record of process improvements in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Director of Financial Reporting will collaborate closely with senior leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities: 

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:

    • Oversee the preparation of financial reporting to meet both internal and external compliance requirements

    • Responsible for documenting and implementing authoritative accounting guidance

    • Lead and direct the monthly close process including review of general ledger account reconciliations to ensure financial reporting accuracy

    • Promote process improvements to drive efficiency and reduce days to close

    • Coordinate the preparation of materials necessary to complete the company’s annual financial statement audit as well as regulatory audits and related requirements

    • Establish and maintain internal controls over financial reporting

  • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing guidance and mentorship

    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance organization, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles, preferably in the financial technology industry or related sectors.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a diverse team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

  • Deep understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Experience working with financial technology platforms, systems, and tools is a plus
