JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State IT Service Desk is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused students for our Student IT Support Specialist roles. These positions are part-time. A minimum commitment of 12 hours per week is required, with hours ranging from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., 7 days a week. As this job entails both in-person and remote work, you MUST have a computer with stable internet connection, a quiet environment, and headphones with a built-in microphone.
Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues reported by users
Provide basic IT support in various professional settings
Follow up with users to ensure their issues have been resolved in a timely manner
Create and maintain documentation for IT systems and procedures
Assist with various IT projects and initiatives
Current enrollment at the University Park Campus
Strong communication and customer service skills
Basic knowledge of IT systems and troubleshooting procedures
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
