Responsibilities:
Overview: Ensures employees and visitors adhere to IDEMIA, PCI, and all other security policies and procedures. The security operator works inside of the Security Control Room. The SCR is the nexus for monitoring all activity on site. Access Control, Burglar Alarm, Fire Alarm, Surveillance, Switchboard and Duress Alarm Systems are primarily monitored from this room. Security Guards are responsible for securing the premises and personnel by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment and access points; permitting entry, etc.
Responsibilities:

Operate a closed circuit surveillance system (CCSS). Observe plant-wide activity on several monitors. Review, download and archive video files as needed

Documents all incidents reported or recorded including a narrative of factual events using Word

Screen all visitors and deliveries, coordinating arrivals with the receptionist, warehouse personnel and the card-packaging department, as appropriate. All interactions are logged

Operate an access control system (ACS). Issue new and temporary access control badges to employees

Capture employee images for assignment to their issued access control badges using ACS. Observe employee activity on a computer monitor. Generate reports on activity of individual employees.

Respond to burglar and fire alarms and system troubles through keypads on point addressable

Absolute discretion is required. Information obtained by surveillance, interview or documentation or other means may not be divulged unauthorized persons

Must be able to operate and bypass burglar and fire alarm systems

Open/close plant: The operator will follow a plant closing procedure ensuring vaults are closed and properly secured by others, all perimeter doors are closed and secured. Access control is limited to designated employees. Finally, all Burglar Alarm systems are activated using a code specifically assigned to the operator. The operator vacates the premises until the plant is reopened. Industry policies require activation of many overlapping layers of physical security before the plant may be closed. Plant closings will be determined in advance by management based on business needs. Operator assignment will be based on assigned shift and availability.

Search employees: The ACS may be used to randomly select employees for search, or business needs may require searches of an employee or guest, their desk, locker, vehicle or any packages or parcels in their possession following procedures in Search Instruction Policy (GPSEC020)

Summon police via telephone or silent alarms based on need. Routine requests for police, fire or emergency medical service will be routed through 911. However, duress alarms are provided to covertly request immediate police dispatch to site when using the phone would jeopardize the operator’s safety or the safety of others
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
