PayPal, Inc. seeks Financial Analyst Business Partner 1 in San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Partner with industry product leaders to drive successful outcomes in the merchant product area. Help to define business and financial goals to drive accountability and ownership on PayPal Commerce Platform. Own detailed data analytics models for in-depth analyses, and ensure model quality, timeliness, and accuracy. Be the product team’s go-to financial partner for ad hoc analysis for PayPal Commerce Platform. Analyze and interpret alternative pricing scenarios with varying risk trade-offs to help accurately forecast market trends. Analyze complex pricing data to determine projected profits or potential losses, including risk analysis. Implement large-scale data mining and machine learning algorithms and data model pipelines in a software production environment. Perform exploratory data analysis to understand the correlation between target performance and platform features. Utilize data mining technologies and various data sources, such as PayPal user behavior data, inventory data, and transaction data in both batch and real time mode, to create platform performance data models. Work closely with team members to develop efficient algorithms for platform performance models and improve the algorithms by using state-of-the-art data analytics research work. Leverage information technology background to support and influence key strategic product decisions and build business cases on new product initiatives. Provide analytical rigor and develop critical success and business performance metrics, pull together a unified financial story for merchant products and initiatives, and communicate actionable insights to relevant stakeholders. Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation, (e.g. analyst). Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Technology, Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation (e.g. analyst).
