Operations Manager (with Engineering Background)

Job Title: Operations Manager
Work Arrangement: Fully remote, with occasional on-call availability for high-priority tasks outside standard hours.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $1,300 - $1,700 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
Work Schedule: 50+ hours per week, with flexibility required to handle critical issues as they arise.
Time Zone: Primarily PST, with flexibility across various time zones for coordination as needed.

About the Company

The company is on a mission to fix American Healthcare by solving their biggest problem: not enough nurses. They do this by removing barriers for international nurses to immigrate and build a career in the United States, and we are on track to help 300+ nurses immigrate by the end of next year (2025).

They are a Y Combinator tech startup, with over $8M raised, and backed by Tier 1 investors such as Haystack, Audacious, and a list of powerful angels from company greats like Airbnb, Twitch and Flexport. They have an incredible product that the market is needing, proven with $2M in founder sales within our first 12 months. Their team is fully remote across multiple countries, and comprised of industry veterans from technology, healthcare, and immigration.

Role Overview

The Operations Manager will primarily support the COO in strategic projects and administrative tasks that drive revenue growth, but will also provide assistance across other departments as needed. This role involves working closely with the CEO, the co-founder and COO, to drive strategic initiatives, manage various tasks, and enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of his work. The ideal candidate is a capable generalist that is highly organized, can learn things extremely quickly, and a strong communicator.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Support:

    • Collaborate with the COO to drive key strategic initiatives and ensure their successful implementation.
    • Assist in the development and execution of project plans, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the Sales team and other departments.

Project Management:

    • Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.

Administrative Tasks:

    • Manage the COO’s calendar, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements.
    • Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and presentations.
    • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Team Support:

    • Serve as a point of contact for the Sales team and assist with various departmental needs.
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration across different teams and departments.
    • Organize and coordinate team events, meetings, and other activities.

Ad Hoc Duties:

    • Take on miscellaneous tasks as required to support the COO and the broader team.
    • Provide high-level administrative support to other departments when necessary.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a top-tier university.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to tools and applications such as Airtable, Pipedrive, Notion, Make, and Zapier.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven reputation for punctuality, responsibility, and dependability in prior roles.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently while proactively achieving goals.
  • Demonstrates a high level of initiative and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities effectively.
  • Experience supporting multiple executives.
