People Analytics Specialist

As a People Analytics Specialist, you will be a critical member of the HR team by transforming data to help deliver impactful insights and recommendations to drive Proterra’s People and Business strategies. Reporting to the Director of HR Shared Services and Benefits, the People Analytics Specialist provides analytical support across the HR team as well as assist with special projects related to compensation management, performance management, and dashboard development.

About the Role – You will:

  • Consult with key team members to understand data needs to ensure proper development, collection and usability of data reporting.
  • Analyze people data for trends and patterns to identify critical opportunities to drive business decisions and measure success of Proterra’s programs and initiatives surrounding, hiring, culture, retention, learning, engagement, diversity, performance, and compliance.
  • Develop, manage and optimize HR and Leadership Dashboards to ensure data is presented in a transparent, accessible, and usable way.
  • Develop standard ad hoc and automated reports in HRIS for people managers, leadership, and the HR team.
  • Point of contact and subject matter expert for ad hoc people data and analytics requests
  • Partner with HR Team to support ongoing people data analytics efforts (e.g., recruiting analysis, performance trends analysis, hours and staff utilization analysis, turnover analysis, etc.)
  • Partner with other areas of HR to assist with process improvement solutions and streamlining of information.
  • Communicate statistical analyses and results with the use of various analytic/visual tools (i.e. Tableau) and techniques to showcase data for technical and non-technical audiences.

  • This position will be part of the Greenville based HR team.
  • You will report to the Director of HR Shared Services and Benefits and collaborate with other HR team members located across our various sites.

About You:

  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills; Continuously identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Strong Presentation and Analytical Skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

Your Experience Includes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, business analytics, or business management required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an data analytics role.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Superb analytical skills; hands-on experience manipulating and deriving insight from large datasets.
  • Expert PPT and Excel skills
  • Proficiency in Tableau or PowerBI is a plus.
  • Experience with HRIS is preferred.
