PeopleCert is looking for a talented Software Developer Team Leader to lead our Software Development Team, which consists of more than 100 members, who design and develop applications that support & manage our certification exams, conducted 24x7 worldwide. Our applications are web based, build on cloud (Azure) based web services/applications using various technologies including JavaScript, Redis, oAuth, .Net, SQL server etc, iOS & android native app development and video streaming.
As a Software Developer Team Leader, your tasks will include the following:
- Leadership and Management: Lead a team of software developers, managing the full lifecycle of software development projects. Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget while maintaining high standards of software quality and performance.
- Technical Direction: Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code using advanced development tools like GitHub Copilot. Provide technical guidance and oversight, ensuring best practices in software design and coding standards are followed.
- Strategic Project Planning: Play a key role in project planning and design. Monitor project progress, adjust as necessary to meet changing needs and requirements, and provide comprehensive updates to senior management.
- Quality Assurance Oversight: Supervise unit testing and debugging processes, ensuring software functionality and reliability. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to identify and resolve issues swiftly.
- Mentorship and Development: Mentor junior developers, fostering skills development through coaching and training. Encourage continuous learning and adoption of the latest programming techniques and technologies.
- Team Collaboration and Communication: Promote a collaborative team environment. Facilitate effective communication among team members to ensure alignment and efficient operation.
- Policy Implementation: Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures as per the PeopleCert Integrated Management System. Drive the implementation of new policies and procedures that enhance team performance and software quality.
What we look for:
- Educational Background: University Degree in Informatics Technology or a related field. A Postgraduate Degree is advantageous.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 7 years’ experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a team leadership or management role.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in ASP.NET, C#, and JavaScript. Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, frameworks, and design patterns.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team. Strong project management skills and experience in an Agile development environment.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of the English language, with professional fluency; C2 level certification is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Capable of effectively negotiating and resolving conflicts.
- Personal Competencies: Exceptionally organized, strategic thinker, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)
Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.
If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:
- A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
- Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
- HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
- Financial background check
- Employment reference check
- If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK
In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
