Senior Frontend Engineer, Rendering (Berlin, hybrid)

We’re in an exciting growth phase following our Series B funding and are expanding our team. Our hybrid working culture includes three office days per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) at our Berlin headquarters. Looking ahead, we’re also growing London as our second location, with a new office planned for 2025.

Your role at Kittl

As part of a cross-functional team including product managers, developers, designers and a founding team, you will create and develop an amazing product that you will be proud of. The Core Editor team focuses on providing an intuitive, versatile, and powerful graphic design editor, empowering users to successfully complete design projects. As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Kittl, you have a deep understanding of the product and can recognize potential challenges users may encounter that affect their workflow. You know how to make complex things simple, and can work fast and smart at the same time.

What you'll do

  • Develop editor features: Develop and enhance various features which simplify complex image composition and editing tasks

  • Produce high-quality results: Craft clean, understandable code which tackles complex rendering challenges

  • Optimisation: Optimize 2D rendering for super smooth performance

  • Improve engineering standards: You'll improve tooling and processes

What you'll need

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional development experience with TypeScript & React

  • Rendering knowledge: Vector graphics and SVG (scalable vector graphics) manipulation, with experience in rendering and displaying SVGs. Proficiency with shaders, WebGL, or Canvas 2D/3D is a plus

  • Testing: Strong proficiency with unit, integration and E2E testing

  • CI/CD: Understanding of Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery processes

Interview process

  • Recruiter interview (30 min)

  • Technical take home assignment

  • Technical interview (60 min)

  • Leadership interviews with Director of Engineering (30 min) & CTO (30 min)

  • Bar raiser interview with Chief of Staff, right hand to CEO (45 min)
