Peraton is seeking a senior level Systems Engineer at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) near Greenbelt, MD to support IT and Systems Administration requirements of the Laser Communication Relay Development (LCRD) project. The selected candidate will be responsible for general ground system and operations engineering support for LCRD experiment operations.
Peraton is the prime contractor for NASA SENSE contract managed at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). This contract supports operations at the White Sands Complex (WSC) near Las Cruces, New Mexico. WSC operated satellite ground terminals that ensure uninterrupted communications between various ground stations, NASA’s orbiting fleet of Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS), customer spacecraft (satellites), and the computer systems that support such spacecraft. WSC also supports a satellite ground terminal for the STPSat-6 satellite and has a Mission Operations Center (MOC) for its LCRD payload. The MOC conducts laser communications experiments and the GSFC support staff provides sustainment support for the MOC ground systems supporting the payload operations via the LCRD MOC – Extension (LMOC-E) at GSFC.
