Medicaid Auditor Team Lead

Responsibilities

SafeGuard Services (SGS), a subsidiary of Peraton, performs data analysis, investigation, and medical review to detect, prevent, deter, reduce, and make referrals to recover fraud, waste, and abuse.

We are looking to add an Audit Team Lead to our SGS team of talented professionals.

What you'll do:

 

As a Medicaid Audit Team Lead, this individual’s primary responsibilities will include but not limited to achieving quality objectives, workload oversight to promote timely development and resolution of audits and provide mentoring and guidance to audit team members.  The individual will need to exercise significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine the best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives within predetermined timelines.

  • Assign staff to specific audits, monitor progress, review audit activities, and ensure deliverables are met.
  • Plan, perform, and oversee complex audits by defining the scope and parameters to assess the level of compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations and policies.
  • Provide technical advice and consultation to staff. Train when necessary.
  • Monitor the progress of audits to ensure compliance with customer timelines.
  • Hold regular and Ad Hoc staff meetings to resolve issues impacting audit progression. Lead prioritization of assignments and conduct Quality Check on deliverables.
  • Monitor the quality of information within the various case tracking systems. Ensure that all required information is entered timely, and any necessary corrections are completed.
  • Ensure that reports and deliverables are completed timely, well written and findings are well supported in both case tracking systems.
  • Telework available from the continuous United States.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
  • 2+ years of related experience in finance, accounting or audit.
  • Intermediate knowledge of internal audit policies and operating principles.
  • Intermediate understanding of Medicare/Medicaid or healthcare auditing and their revenue cycles.
  • Intermediate risk assessment and scoping skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • US. citizenship required

The most competitive candidates will have:

  • Degree in finance, accounting or related field preferred.
  • Intermediate financial and business acumen.
  • Basic project management skills.
  • Previous Team Lead experience.

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
