Personal Assistant - Fontana

Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking friendly, driven, and reliable individuals to assist our clients with disabilities with their day-to-day needs which may include those related to school or common life skills. This job will include visiting the client in their own home to provide this assistance and may also include providing transportation for the client to school campuses or other locations within their community. Scheduling is part-time based on employee availability and client need.

Job Description:

The Personal Assistant provides assistance for individuals with Disabilities to help them achieve specific goals that they have set for themselves to accomplish within their college classrooms or out in their community. For school-related goals assistance may include helping individuals maintain focus in their classes, organizing their calendars, assisting during study sessions, and with transportation to and from school campuses. For life-related goals assistance may include encouraging participation within the community and teaching common life skills such as household chores and duties with the intent that they may perform them on their own in the future.

Responsibilities:
-Assist individual with note taking, time management, and communication with professors and peers
-Assist individual with staying focused on tasks at hand
-Assist individual with common life skills and integration in the community
-Provide transportation assistance as needed
-Adheres to the standards, policies, procedures of the Company
-Represents the Company with a positive image at all times
-Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in meeting the needs of all clients
-Effectively communicates with the office staff, including availability to work
-Adheres to time and attendance policies
-Provides requirements-related information (annual re-certifications, compliance trainings, etc.) in a timely fashion; follows all other compliance standards at all times

Requirements:
-One (1) year of experience as a Companion/Mentor/Tutor for individuals with Disabilities, preferred
-Ability to adhere to time and attendance policies
-Ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner and adhere to policies regarding professionalism and boundaries
-Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and possess strong interpersonal skills
-Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required
-Computer proficiency required
