Finance & Operations Manager

We are building an AI system for analysts and scientists, based on a fundamentally new approach to reasoning and knowledge representation. We go beyond state-of-the-art LLMs by combining algorithms in symbolic ways, to provide novel capabilities like performing multi-step analysis, and supporting complex model-building. We envision applications supporting analysis and research in domains such as Finance, Strategy Consulting, Engineering, Material Sciences, and more.

We are looking for an experienced Finance Management & Operations professional to join our team. You will be part of a lean, results-oriented, and fast-paced team of problem-solvers and doers, responsible for ensuring excellent financial operations and the achievement of our Finance strategy.

• You’ve had exposure to all typical Finance processes of a startup, ideally in Tech
• You’ve held operational roles where you were able to learn best practices
• You’ve spent a few years in a company with high standards where you have proven that you can meet a high bar for reliability, quality and speed
• You are good at building / implementing tools to automate workflows and create reliable processes
• You have a thorough practical and theoretical understanding of Corporate Finance and Accounting, ideally an advanced degree in Finance and/or in Sciences

• Find here our main ongoing workstreams. While these are the basic responsibilities of the role we believe in giving the freedom to explore and develop opportunities to contribute across and beyond these:
• Global payroll operations: oversee external payroll provider, ensure on-time, accurate payments, bring new ideas to further automate payroll processes
• Compensation: continuously innovate to improve our tools, benchmark data, and principles to provide competitive compensation that achieves our strategic goals
• Purchase-to-Pay: oversee and manage vendors, negotiate new agreements, execute and improve invoice processing, do research to find ever better tools and suppliers
• FP&A: own the financial models, forecast cash flows and other KPIs, manage FX risk
• Treasury: manage liquidity, run capital increase rounds, manage stockholder administration including the annual general meeting; improve and potentially publish some of our innovations
• Tax: optimise taxes, prepare and file returns, working closely together with external advisors
• Record-to-Report: oversee accounting and bookkeeping, coordinate external professionals (accountant, auditor); create insightful reports and prepare strategic decisions
• Support all areas of the company with your financial acumen and modelling skills, be a right-hand for the leadership team for financial and legal matters
