Job Summary

Point32Health is currently seeking highly motivated individuals to join our organization. The Actuarial Analyst II will be responsible for developing and filing rates, enhancing forecasting, trend, and pricing models, monitoring and reporting on experience and industry data, performing multi-year projections, and presenting findings.

This is an analytical and technical position in which the analyst must be able to perform independently and execute all the analytical and technical tasks required to take a project from inception to conclusion. This role will work closely with one or more Point32Health departments including Underwriting, Finance, Sales, Legal and Government Affairs, and Network Contracting.

This role requires an understanding of the health insurance industry, strong interpersonal skills, and proficiency in relational databases, data warehouses, Excel, and statistical modeling.

Key Responsibilities/Duties – what you will be doing

  • Collect and review data to develop and file major deliverables such as regulatory rate filings, pricing models, trend reports, monthly business updates, reserves, and other ad hoc projects
  • Prepare calculations and analyses; review, summarize and communicate results; and anticipate potential issues or questions
  • Collaborate with other areas on identifying issues/opportunities and developing actions
  • Represent Actuarial Team during meeting with functional partners
  • Respond to changes in regulations, become familiar with competitive environment and identify market issues that can impact actuarial work
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications – what you need to perform the job

·       Bachelor’s Degree in quantitative discipline or equivalent education / training

·       2+ years of actuarial or analytic experience

·       2-4 actuarial exams passed

·       Strong analytic skills and database familiarity to support business functions

·       Advanced Excel skills; experience with VBA, and SQL, SAS preferred

·       Prior experience in the health insurance or healthcare industry is preferred
