Director of International Sales

Launched in 2014 by former philosophy professor David Barnett, PopSockets is a global digital-lifestyle company that sells empowering, fun, and expressive products that improve people’s digital lives. PopSockets has sold over 245 million of its iconic phone grips in 75 countries and now has an expanding ecosystem of related products, including phone cases, wallets, mounts, batteries, and chargers.

The Role:

PopSockets is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of International Sales to oversee and expand our global distribution network. In this role, you will manage relationships with international distribution partners, drive revenue growth, and ensure our products achieve optimal market penetration in key regions. This is a critical leadership position requiring a dynamic individual with a strong sales acumen, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to navigate complex global markets. As the liaison between company headquarters and our international clients, this role will need to be a strong collaborator that possesses equally strong communication skills to quickly and accurately identify opportunities, engage cross-function teams, and deliver solutions. Lastly, this role requires a self-starting strategic thinker with a drive to win and a sense of urgency to compete in the fast-paced Consumer Electronics category.


Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and execute the international sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
  • Identify opportunities for growth in emerging and established markets, aligning efforts with the company's overall business objectives.

  • Partner Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global distribution partners to drive performance and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Evaluate and select new distribution partners based on strategic fit, market expertise, and alignment with brand values.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide training, and support partners to optimize their sales performance.

  • Market Development:
  • Monitor and analyze international market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify opportunities for product positioning and differentiation.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to tailor campaigns and offerings for specific regional markets.

  • Revenue and Budget Management:
  • Establish sales targets and KPIs for distribution partners, ensuring accountability and regular progress tracking.
  • Manage budgets for international sales operations, including travel, training, and marketing activities.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with logistics, operations, and finance teams to ensure efficient supply chain management and compliance with international trade regulations.
  • Partner with legal teams to negotiate and manage distribution contracts, ensuring adherence to local laws and regulations.

  • Fulfill other duties as required and embrace the opportunity to pick up new activities that fall broadly in the purpose of the role

Requirements:
  • 8-10 years in international sales role, with at least 5 years managing global distribution networks
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in diverse global markets
  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations, cultural nuances, and market dynamics
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Possess problem solving, attention to details, and analytical skills
  • Must be a self-starter that shows ownership and commitment to the job
  • Highly versed in Microsoft Office Suite with specific emphasis in Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable with G-Suite platform
  • Action-oriented and flexible mindset to drive impact in a fast-paced, rapidly changing growth environment
  • Sense of humor, personal integrity, and appreciation for the power of teamwork 
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 30–50% of the time


$150,000 - $160,000 a year
+ 20% Bonus potential
