Postdoctoral Position in Gastric Cancer at Purdue University
Postdoctoral Researcher positions are available immediately in Dr. Valerie O’Brien’s lab in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Purdue University. Email Dr. O’Brien for more information at vpobrien@purdue.edu.
The O’Brien lab is investigating how and why chronic infection with Helicobacter pylori drives gastric cancer development, in order to develop new strategies for preventing disease progression and reverting the gastric epithelium back to a healthy state.
The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for data collection and analysis for projects focused on single-cell RNA-sequencing, immunofluorescence microscopy, and characterization of new models of gastric disease. Based on their interests, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to other ongoing projects and to build their teaching, mentoring, and grant-writing portfolios.
Highly motivated candidates with excellent communication skills and an interest in conducting interdisciplinary research are encouraged to apply. Salary will adhere to current NIH guidelines.
