Principal Project Manager

Our Principal Project Manager
has higher level of expertise, furnished by in-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and demonstrates extraordinary skills in the discipline. The experience and skills of a Principal Project Manager include the strategic planning of a focused program, including the analysis of business activities, expenses, profits and measurement of established goals, and communicating strategy across the enterprise. The majority, 50-100%, of the Principal PMs workload is leading and implementing complex projects. They will prepare and present business cases internally, to customer, , provide a singular view on complex projects, manage and report project timelines, establish program governance, identify and manage resources and meet program reporting requirements to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget and to the highest quality standards. The Principal understands the business need for each project and makes decisions based in the best interest of the organization—even when that means challenging senior stakeholders on critical success factors. The Principal Project Manager is comfortable building something from nothing, building project plans for new project initiatives (NPI) and BETA products, provide recommendations on project delivery in line with budgets, time-frames, objectives, and project priorities, effectively managing stakeholder relationships and communication. They have a deep understanding of the broader objectives of the project initiative across a product or related product family. Principals provide recommendations on improvements to established processes, as well as maintain established processes for accuracy and efficiency. They lead and own a product and work as a project manager Subject Matter Expert (SME) and mentor to others. The Principal Project Manager has 6-9+ years' experience leading high priority, high visibility projects with multiple bundled and specialty projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Managing the relationships with client and partner stakeholders to ensure their satisfaction throughout the project
  • Working closely with the internal customer to review, analyze, understand, and define the high level Project Requirements: Objectives, Scope, Schedule Milestones
  • Representing Nuance and conducting business at all times with a high level of Professionalism, Competencies, and Ethics
  • Working closely with the client and internal Nuance PS Team to: gather, analyze, & document all the detailed solutions requirements, refine/define a detailed scope of work for all project deliverables, develop a detailed project plan to produce all the required deliverables, manage, monitor, and communicate progress against plan on a regular basis, manage and coordinate joint activities when applicable, manage changes, issues, and risks associated with the project, manage the acceptance of all formal project deliverables, close the project on completion of all project deliverables.
  • Leading and Managing the internal Nuance project team to execute the project according to plan.
  • Accurately Forecasting, Planning, Reporting, and Managing on the project to ensure accurate and timely Project Revenue/Cost Accounting.
  • Proactively managing and resolving issues to minimize crisis and escalations, and proactively informing and engaging Senior Management in advance when they can't be avoided.
  • Providing leadership, guidance, and assistance to project team members as required.
  • Learning and Complying with all internal Project Management Methodology, Policies, & Procedures.
  • Providing constructive feedback and suggestions on internal Process improvements.
  • Leading and Managing Process Improvement Projects as needed.
Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent related experience
Years of Work Experience: 6-9+ years of overall experience
Required Experience:
  • Project Management experience a must. 6+ years of project management experience in a Professional Services capacity working directly with Clients and Partners.
  • Proven success coordinating complex technical implementations with larger/strategic clients.
  • Possess business acumen and strategic operational thinking.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams of diverse subject-matter-experts.
  • Demonstrable competencies in planning & managing a project's scope, schedule, cost, resources, quality and risks.
  • Ability to build, develop, coach and motivate a project team.
  • Aptitude for learning and adapting to new processes & tools, proficiency with MS-Office.
  • Excellent communications skills both written and oral
  • Proven ability to create and deliver professional presentations to both internal and external audiences up to and including C-Suite level execs.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
Desired Experience:
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to pivot quickly in an evolving organization.
  • Business and/or technical experience with Speech, CRTM, and/or software technologies and solutions.
  • Knowledge in the Healthcare industry.
  • PMP or SCRUM certification.
  • Using Project Automation tool/systems.
Travel:
  • Willingness to travel as required
