The Role
As a Principal Software Developer, you will research new technologies, build proof of concepts, and develop infrastructure subsystems to push the evolution of the monarch platform. The OSI platform, monarch, is a state-of-the-art energy management, optimization, and control software solution for energy utility companies worldwide. The monarch platform provides a distributed, highly available, real-time foundation for monarch applications.
As a member of the Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) team, you will work with Systems Architects and other stakeholders to prioritize and design projects with global impact.
Your Impact

Contribute to a complex distributed system and associated application infrastructure that is the foundation for all monarch applications.

Design and implement new features and capabilities of the application software.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and find improvements to be made in current software.

Collaborate with other teams and departments outside of Development, such as Customer Support, to find creative solutions to the complex challenges facing our customers.

Lead research on emerging technologies that could impact the system architecture.
What You'll Need

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

5+ years’ experience with C/C++.

Experience with APIs and daemon processes.

Experience with programming on Windows and Linux.

Experience with SCADA and/or OT systems.

Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.

A passion for learning and working on complex problems.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally and at different levels of the organization.

Ability to work independently, effectively manage time, and prioritize strategically.
