The Van D. and Barbara B. Fishback Honors College at South Dakota State University (SDSU) is currently seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and collegial leader to serve on our team as a Program Assistant. A committed ambassador of Honors and SDSU, this professional will be a critical partner in advancing our mission through campus-wide collaboration to deepen Honors’ commitment to elevate, enrich, and enliven the student experience.
Job Responsibilities: This individual will provide organizational support to the college and associated activities within the Fishback Honors College and serve as the office manager and assistant to the dean.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of:
· University policies and procedures.
· Database development and maintenance.
· Work processes and practices pertaining to SDSU.
· Customer service practices.
· Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Adobe).
· Social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
Skill & Ability to:
· Demonstrate effective written, interpersonal, and collaborative communication skills.
· Impeccable compositional and editorial skills.
· Manage time effectively and ability to manage multiple ongoing projects.
· Practice strong attention to detail.
· Demonstrate willingness to design or propose methods and policies with some guidance.
· Demonstrated ability to facilitate group meetings, work collaboratively with a commitment to community-building, and provide support and consultation to the team.
· Express motivation, professionalism, integrity, and drive to advance the mission of Honors and of SDSU.
· Willingness to perform all work in the spirit of SDSU’s core values.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Knowledge of Honors issues and trends in higher education.
· Prior experience in office management.
· Experience working in Box, Microsoft Teams, Banner, Connect State, and D2L.
· Proficiency with multiple social media platforms.
Required License: Valid Driver’s License.
