Program Manager

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee and is accountable for overall performance of defined scope(s) of work as indicated by customer satisfaction, quality of products and/or services provided, level of profitability attained, and other such measures as may be designated
• Serve as primary customer contact and manage overall company customer interface relationships for defined scope(s) of work to assure responsiveness to customer needs and effective professional conduct
• Mentor and coach assigned personnel to enhance performance and encourage professional development. Hire, terminate, discipline, and document performance
• Develop project schedules. Define and assign work to engineers assigned to program
• Monitor and control work in progress for technical adequacy and provides active assistance to meet schedules or resolve complex technical or customer requirements
• Represent the company as the primary customer contact on assigned engineering contracts or programs
• Provide programmatic direction to organizational elements executing processes required to provide products and services that meet contract quality, performance, schedule, and cost requirements
• Establish metrics and monitors progress to assure contract compliance, customer satisfaction, and attainment of company commitments and objectives
• Report progress to appropriate levels of management
• Provides functional and technical guidance to engineering staff and management
• May perform as a project lead on advanced specialized projects or in resolution of technical problems that would critically impact performance, schedule, or cost
• Develop new customer contacts and conceptualizes solutions to customer problems that lead to new business for the corporation
• Actively identify additional/expanded tasking with existing customers and defines technical requirements for draft statements of work

MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in: business administration; computer science; engineering; management of information systems; information technology; or a related field of study
• Seven or more (7+) years' of related experience in program management of projects of similar in size, scope, and complexity
• Industry project management certification (PMP)
• Seven or more (7+) years' experience managing a team comprised of multiple contractors
• Seven or more (7+) years' experience in the development, implementation, and update of project management plans (PMP), Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), project budget management, deliverables, and risk management plans
• Working knowledge of and direct experience with software development and requirements management
• Industry project management certifications (PMP, etc.)
• Working knowledge of cyber testing or training
• Experience managing both remote and distributed personnel/teams
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's degree in: business administration; computer science; engineering; management of information systems; information technology; or a related field of study
• Fifteen or more (15+) years of related, proven program management experience overseeing complex, multi-team efforts
