David Weekley Homes is seeking an enthusiastic Project Coordinator to join our Charlotte team. Project Coordinators provide administrative support to the operations team-including Sales, Construction Superintendents, Warranty Reps and Project Managers-of designated new home communities.
This key position contributes significantly to the project's organization and efficiency. The successful candidate must possess a strong work ethic, great communication skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities. Experience in residential home building is highly preferred, and experience with permitting process is a plus.
- Process sales contracts
- Manage/apply for building and stormwater permits and deal with local municipalities
- Document, track and report out all building permit and start activities
- Assist in facilitating dialogue and reports between the operations teams and various office teams as it pertains to starts, plot plans, permits, water meters, and all other supporting documents
- Provide daily updates on discrepancies and cycle time changes to minimize permitting issues and increase efficiency
- Facilitate the hiring process
- Coordinate meetings and team events
- Maintain accurate electronic files for each home
- Process post-closing items
- Pay invoices and utility bills
- Order supplies
- Prepare reports
- Additional support as needed
- Previous construction and/or home building experience and experience with the permitting process is preferred
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a member of a dynamic team
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Exposure to JD Edwards beneficial, but not required.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to accomplish tasks in a time-sensitive environment
- High attention to detail and ability to deal effectively with numerous interruptions
- Strong follow-up with a drive to get results from vendors, subcontractors, and management and a lack of phone reluctance
- Positive attitude and strong customer service skills
