QA Engineer

Our team at Rev is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manual QA Tester. As a Manual QA Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications through thorough testing and defect identification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual testing of software applications to identify defects, bugs, and usability issues.
  • Develop and execute test cases and test plans based on project requirements and design specifications.
  • Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing to ensure the reliability and stability of the software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software.
  • Document and track defects found during testing and work with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
  • Participate in design and requirement reviews to provide feedback and ensure testability of the software.
  • Verify and validate bug fixes and new features through retesting and regression testing.
  • Identify areas of improvement in the software development process and propose solutions to enhance the quality and efficiency of testing.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in software testing methodologies, tools, and technologies.
  • Provide clear and concise reports on test results, including detailed descriptions of issues and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience as a Manual QA Tester or similar role, preferably in an Agile development environment.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with different types of testing, such as functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
  • Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases and test plans.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and isolate defects.
  • Solid understanding of software development processes and the ability to work closely with developers to facilitate defect resolution.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly.
  • Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools is a plus.
