Architectural Design - Visiting Lecturer

QS4QS is excited to invite applications for the position of Architectural Design - Visiting Lecturer to join our academic team. This part-time role is ideal for a creative and experienced professional who is passionate about teaching and guiding students in the principles of architectural design. The successful candidate will engage students in critical thinking and problem-solving while fostering their design skills through various projects and discussions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver inspiring lectures, workshops, and tutorials on architectural design concepts, theories, and practices.
  • Design engaging course materials, including project briefs, assignments, and resources that challenge students' creativity and technical skills.
  • Assess student work through critiques, presentations, and project submissions, providing actionable feedback to support their growth.
  • Mentor students in their design processes and encourage exploration of innovative design solutions.
  • Collaborate with faculty members to enhance the architecture curriculum and integrate contemporary design practices and technologies.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in architectural design, incorporating these insights into course content.
  • Facilitate studio sessions and encourage collaboration among students to enhance teamwork skills.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the architectural design program.
  • Master's degree or higher in Architecture, Architectural Design, or a related field.
  • Extensive professional experience in architectural design, with a robust portfolio showcasing design projects.
  • Previous teaching or lecturing experience in higher education is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, techniques, and software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and engage students in the creative process.
  • Proficient in contemporary architectural trends and sustainable design practices.
  • Commitment to promoting student development and academic excellence.
  • Flexibility to teach on a part-time basis and availability for student consultations outside of class hours.
