Regional Director of Sales, Meat USA

As the Regional Director of Sales for Meat Products, you will be responsible managing all sales activities for an industry within the region of North America. The RSD is a senior leader within the region, with responsibility for driving sales according to industry and regional strategy. The RSD will have dual reporting to the Industry Sales Director and Regional Managing Director. The RSD will provide leadership to industry-specific sales resources within the region and will drive the strategy to maximize sales margins for the industry within the region. The RSD will identify and exploit new commercial opportunities, in partnership with the Regional Managing Director and the Sales Front office within the region, and will serve as a member of the Regional Management Team

In this role, your main tasks will be to:

  • Manage, leads, trains and coaches Industry Sales Managers, Key Account Managers and Account Managers in the Region.
  • Builds up and maintains loyalty with Key Customers
  • Accountable for sales process from prospect until take-over protocol within the region
  • Responsible for sales of service contracts in conjunction with equipment sales, while Regional Service Director remains responsible for terms & condition. Also responsible for sales of predefined spare parts packages as agreed with Regional Service Director and in close collaboration with the Customer Care Managers
  • Accountable for master data in the region, ensures that front line sales in the region prepare visit reports, lead registration, opportunity follow-up and that information is kept up to date in the CRM system.
  • Develops the Sales strategy within the region, based on general market information and desires and needs of customers and relations as well as other relevant industry information.
  • Responsible for annual sales target setting for the region, working with the Regional Managing Director and the Industry Sales Director.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or similar relevant subject, or experience equivalent to a four-year degree
  • Minimum of five years of relevant sales management experience, and should have meat industry or food industry experience along with capital equipment experience.
  • Previous experiences in international assignments/expatriate management preferable
  • The role requires extensive travel based on business needs
  • Excellent skills in written and verbal English
  • Experience with and comfort working in a multi-cultural, multi-discipline organization is an advantage
