VP of Growth

Our mission is to increase the success rate of small businesses. Traditional banking has been a growth limiter rather than a growth enabler for business owners, and we’re changing that. Relay is the all-in-one, collaborative money management platform. We’re building for employer SMBs and their finance function, internal and external, and are focused on delivering a human-centric customer experience. Ultimately, we help SMBs be ‘on the money'.


Relay is entering an exciting chapter of growth! We’re looking for an experienced VP of Growth who will be responsible for driving our growth strategy and execution across all customer acquisition, retention, and expansion channels. This role will report directly to our CEO and will lead a growth marketing and product team focused on scaling the business through innovative growth initiatives, user acquisition, experimentation, and marketing optimization. The VP of Growth will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our product, ensuring we build long-term, sustainable growth.


What You'll Be Doing
  • Growth Strategy Development: Design, implement, and continuously refine a comprehensive growth strategy, balancing short-term goals with long-term sustainability.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize analytics and growth experiments to identify growth opportunities, measure success, and iteratively improve on key metrics, including user acquisition, CAC, and more.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams to ensure alignment between growth initiatives and product offerings.
  • Leadership & Team Building: Lead, inspire, and mentor a high-performing growth marketing and product team, fostering a culture of experimentation.
  • Testing New Channels: Test and Identify new channels, tools, and strategies to scale our growth.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Oversee the growth budget and resources, ensuring efficient allocation to high-impact initiatives.
  • Growth Forecasting & Reporting: Track and report on key growth metrics and KPIs to executive leadership, making data-backed recommendations for optimization and scaling.


Who You Are
  • You have 10+ years in growth marketing with at least 5 years in a leadership role with a focus on PLG, preferably with some of that in a fintech or SMB SaaS environment
  • You have demonstrated success in scaling a company’s user base and revenue, with hands-on experience in digital marketing, customer acquisition, and lifecycle marketing
  • You have experience scaling a PLG motion using both online and offline channels
  • You have strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of metrics, A/B testing, customer behavior analysis, and data-driven decision-making
  • You love experimentation and know how to inspire a team around it
  • You have strong leadership skills with experience managing and growing cross-functional growth teams
  • You can think creatively, take risks, and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior leadership and external partners
  • You have a great growth story that you love to geek out on

The Interview Process:
  • Stage 1: A 30-minute Google Meets video call with a member of the Talent team
  • Stage 2: A 1-hour Google Meets video call with our CEO
  • Stage 3: A 1-hour white-boarding session with our CEO and VP of Marketing
  • Stage 4: Two 1-hour discussions with members of our leadership team
  • Stage 5: A take-home case study followed by a presentation to our leadership team and the chance to meet some members of the team you'd work closest with
