About the role: 

We're seeking an experienced Controller to join our Finance team. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing our accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and managing financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will combine technical accounting expertise with strong leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced technology environment.

You will…:

  • Lead monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements

  • Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing mentorship and guidance

  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions

  • Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting policies

  • Partner with FP&A team to provide accurate financial data and analysis

  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and reviews

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations

  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives

  • Manage cash flow and treasury operations

  • Prepare and review tax filings and other regulatory reports

  • Review and process payroll as needed

Required skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in tech startup

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • CPA certification

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements

  • Experience with ERP systems and accounting software

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels

  • Knowledge of revenue recognition standards for software companies

Bonus Points: 

  • Experience in a high-growth technology company or SaaS business

  • Public accounting experience with Big 4 or regional firm

  • Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls

  • Experience with system implementations and process automation
