Job Summary:
We are seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to join our finance team at REAL. The individual will play a critical role in the preparation, maintenance, and filing of the Company’s financial statements, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. This individual will work closely with the Director of Financial Reporting and the finance and accounting teams to produce timely and reliable financial reports. The position will also involve performing internal controls in line with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and supporting both internal and external audit processes.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and drafting of quarterly and annual financial statements, including SEC filings (e.g., 10-Q, 10-K) and other required documents (e.g., 6-K, Management Circular).
Coordinate the review and approval process of financial statements with senior management and address any feedback or revisions.
Assist in the timely filing of financial statements with the SEC and other regulatory bodies as required.
Conduct research on the impact of new accounting standards and regulations, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment for new transactions or business changes.
Support the implementation and monitoring of internal controls within the financial reporting process to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
Respond to internal and external audit reviews, providing necessary documentation and explanations to facilitate the audit process.
Assist in testing and validating internal controls to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Work cross-functionally with various departments, including accounting, legal, investor relations, and operations, to gather necessary financial data and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Coordinate with auditors, both internal and external, to facilitate smooth audits and provide support as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements.
Experience with financial reporting software (Workiva preferred).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial reporting.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders (auditors, regulatory bodies).
Ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely.
Ability to independently research and resolve complex financial reporting issues and challenges.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA certification preferred.
3+ years of experience in financial reporting, public accounting, or a similar role.
Proven experience working with U.S. GAAP, SEC filings, and SOX compliance.
Experience with financial reporting systems (Workiva experience is a plus).
