Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming phone calls from the Foreign Language Desk (FLD) that include booking global itineraries and answering inquiries from customers
  • Efficiently handle special requests; assist all customers including those with disabilities using United guidelines
  • Apply customer service and sales techniques to effectively address customer needs
  • Consistently deliver a standard-setting product to our customers
  • Maintain statistical excellence in all areas to support productivity goals
  • Be accountable for all scheduled telephone time to meet service level goals
  • Maintain an ergonomically correct work area
  • Starting Hourly Wage $20.01 based on the Passenger Service Agreement Contract.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Must possess a high school diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Fluent in Dutch (written and spoken) (language assessment test will be administered)
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be flexible to work any shift within a 24-hour period including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to attend a full-time (8 ½ hour) training class within a 24-hour period at our reservations center in North Houston, TX Or Chicago, IL
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Previous customer service experience required
  • Must have experience using computers, including MS Outlook and Office Communicator (Instant Messaging), Skype, Teams
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
  • Must agree to follow all established United policies including those found within the Working Together Guidelines, Reservations Handbook, Drug and Alcohol Policy, and other applicable United policies and rules
  • Must be able to pass a 10-year security background check

Preferred Skills

  • Previous contact center service experience
