System Administrator, Junior

Resource Management Concepts, Inc. (RMC) provides high-quality, professional services to government and commercial sectors. RMC is hiring for a Jr. System Administrator to support our customer at NSWC Indian Head. The System Administrator will work with a team of highly talented individuals supporting RDT&E network connected and standalone laboratories. Responsibilities in this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and update master images for the team and apply configuration changes as required by organization SOPs and/or checklists.
  • Maintain monthly images for the team to include Install monthly security patches and minor software updates.
  • Experience utilizing SCCM to deploy software to end user systems and create images.
  • Experience creating basic scripts using powershell, batch or bash to automate tasks for users and/or the organization.
  • Experience managing Active Directory to include, making user accounts, groups, GPO to including deploying policies to a domain.
  • Experience reviewing and applying STIG requirements using scripts, GPO, etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills resolving escalated tickets to include log analysis to find problems, using third party tools to find application error during runtime, etc without supervision.
  • Experience supporting systems within a virtual environment.
  • Minor experience applying configurations to switches.
  • Performing routine patch management to servers in an enterprise environment.
  • Provide help desk related support to include imaging workstations, upgrade desktop hardware (RAM and Hard Drives), troubleshooting various issues such as connecting to a printer, blue screen errors, laptop screen issues, etc.
  • Support creation and updating of the team’s SOPs.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $75,000 to $115,000 (annually or hourly.)”

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting system administration for DoD or Federal Programs
  • DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II certified with Continuing Education (CE) (GSEC, CompTIA Security+ CE, SCNP, SSCP)
  • Experience providing Tier III end user desktop support services.
  • Strong understanding of IT Management and associated cybersecurity principles to include cybersecurity policy, network security, and digital forensics
  • Strong troubleshooting skills is a must.
