Risk Analyst

Humboldt Merchant Services - Remote

Schedule is Tuesday - Saturday

The primary focus of the Risk Analyst is to monitor merchant accounts and identify risky merchant transaction behavior. The ideal candidate for this position is a highly analytical person that enjoys investigation and puzzle solving. Strong internet
research skills coupled with a risk investigation background would be highly desired. The ideal candidate will have a background in the merchant payments sector or closely related industry.

What you'll do:

Identify and investigate inconsistent transactions with Card Issuing Banks, consumers, merchants, and all relevant
parties.
Monitor merchant transaction and chargeback activity.
Daily communication with merchants being audited. Potential to speak to agents and merchant customers to
complete a merchant audit to identify liabilities.
Make decisions regarding merchant payments and reserve requirements.
Consult with appropriate law enforcement agencies when required.
Learn and maintain a basic understanding of card brand regulations.
Communicate to merchants for account restrictions and cancellations.
Utilize Internet tools to gather information useful in determining account risk.
Other related duties assigned by management.
Monitor collections efforts to ensure loss mitigation.
Take lead in in-depth risk investigations and reporting.

What we need from you:

High School graduate with at least one year of college or related schooling preferred.
Minimum two years experience in the merchant bankcard industry or merchant Risk related role.
Investigative skills
Independent, self-motivated and conscientious
Detail oriented and excellent organization skills
Computer literate in Microsoft Office Applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Some chargeback experience highly preferred.
