Job Description

Job Purpose: 

Responsible for our regional engineering resource (people, facilities and technology) strategy.  Fully utilizing Rotork’s regional capability to efficiently execute and deliver customer needs. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing input into the global engineering resource strategy and owning and deploy regional engineering resource strategy, leveraging capacity and development capability across our regional engineering resource to deliver agreed business and technology roadmaps.
  • Working closely with other members of the Engineering Operations team to maximize global engineering resource opportunities.
  • With line management responsibility for all Site Engineering Managers across the region and responsibility for the regional engineering resources, will ensure workforce trends and projections are analyzed and workforce plans are in place across the region to enable our engineering teams to deliver on time, on spec and on budget.  Making certain that resources (people, facilities and technology) are correctly allocated to achieve the correct balance between new product development and existing product activities.  With a focus on efficiency, utilising connected capabilities and maximising opportunities for group collaboration across the regional footprint and engaging with other regions where possible. 
  • Focused on the global end market for the region, will own and develop excellent business partnerships with the end market leader for the region. Ensuring timely resolution of any conflict between end market and group needs, presenting a solid vision and sound decisions.
  • Draw on high emotional intelligence (EQ) to be a role model of Rotork Behaviors’ and Culture.  Recognized as a trusted leader who builds strong relationships, drives engagement and focuses on achieving the best outcomes for Rotork and our customers.
  • Champion Growth+, DRIVE and future business change deployments for the region.
  • Work closely with the Head of Global Engineering Operations & other regional engineering managers to execute the strategy to build a high performing team in Engineering Operations.  Setting the bar high and instilling a culture of collaboration, accountability, and a focus on delivering customer value.  Empowering teams and driving engagement.
  • As an ambassador for talent development.  Grow a sustainable structure with a focus on early careers development, succession planning and talent management across the regional engineering team and wider PD&M function and Rotork business.

Qualifications

Required skills and experience:

  • Uses insight planning & market / technical trends to understand, pre-empt & influence long term customer aspirations
  • Ideally knowledgeable of the product types engineered by the teams reporting into this role
  • Track record of leading significant teams and, ideally, leading multi-site teams.
  • Degree level education or relevant experience, in an engineering or science discipline
  • Strategically skilled – able to balance short-term focus on results with longer-term interests
  • Experience of technical, commercial and operational complexities, with the ability to identify and manage key value drivers for the business
  • Experience of budgetary control, target setting, business plans and forecasting

This role can be located in Winston Salem, NC or Rochester, NY
