Safety & Environmental Supervisor

The Quality, Safety & Environmental (QSE) Supervisor is responsible to identify, remove, and reduce hazards and risks. The Supervisor will develop and implement policy that ensures compliance with all safety, quality, food safety regulations and internal requirements. This individual will assist stakeholders in compliance activities to improve the health and safety and quality agenda for the site.
Key Responsibilities
Implementation and Policy Development
  • Implement and deliver initial and refresher EHSQ training programs to operations team members and all new hires.
  • Conduct site risk assessments to ensure risks are identified. Work with the site leadership team to develop risk mitigation and or elimination strategies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct site assessments to ensure compliance with both internal and external requirements. Work with relevant stakeholders to develop solutions for non-conformances.
  • Manage and implement environmental, health & safety, and quality programs to meet both regulatory requirements and Pernod Ricard requirements.
  • Assist with the development with site JSAs and LOTO procedures.
  • Codify Quality Standards.
  • Create Quality SOPs and EOPs.
Record Keeping
  • Conduct incident and accident investigations to determine root cause, preventative actions and track actions to closure.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations. Maintain required recordkeeping documents as required, ensure timely reporting for all site permits.
  • Maintain relevant EHS logs and documentation.
  • Perform End of Line Quality checks.
  • Perform and document incoming raw materials quality inspections.
  • Maintain sample retain program.
  • Perform incoming raw material quality inspections.
Data Driven
  • Partner with site management to ensure applicable EHSQ related KPIs (accident rates, training participation, defects, etc.) are defined, tracked and measured on a regular basis. Focus should be on continuous improvement.
  • Conducts inspections where required.
  • Drive site environmental sustainability targets.
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement with the site Quality Management system.
Ongoing
  • Coordinate the purchase, proper use, maintenance, and inspection of necessary safety and personal protective equipment.
  • Provides assistance and advice on EHS issues and makes recommendations to area managers.
  • Ability to work with employees and achieve safety cultural progression, maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees.
  • Perform and train operators to perform process quality checks.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of safety management experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with reference standards (NFPA, OSHA, DISCUS, ISO, FSSC) .
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships and facilitate learning.
  • Public speaking skills.
  • Proficiency with computer applications and Microsoft products.

The salary range for this role, based in Maxwelton, West Virginia is $65,400 to $98,000, range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
