Curriculum Quality Analyst

The Office of the Registrar at SAIT is an essential part of the student journey, the front line of student support from admissions to convocation. We are committed to informing and assisting our current and future students from initial inquiry through to graduation and employment.


The Opportunity


The Curriculum Quality Analyst is a polished professional specializing in curriculum governance, data quality integrity, process enhancement with a lens on automating solutions using MS Office solutions. As an integral member of the Learner progression team, this position provides support across portfolios. This position will be responsible for creating and maintaining critical paths for all essential functions in the learner progression portfolio.  Data validation and using systematic tools to audit large files for accuracy will be a routine accountability. Responsible for curriculum quality this individual will act as the key conduit of information between SAIT departments who intersect with curriculum data. The ability to utilize tools to systematize data validation and train this skill set will be fundamental.


This individual will be responsible for documenting processes, streamlining processes, creating efficiencies, while providing training internally to the Office of the Registrar as well as to the broader SAIT community when appropriate. Experienced with mapping and enhancing processes from established policies and practices will be key to success in this role. Essential to this position is the ability to analyze, problem-solve and communicate relating to all processes and procedures.


Role Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Quality Accountabilities - 40%
  • With the Manager, is a key contributor in operationalization of enrolment targets and expert in Modern Campus Academic Catalog and Curriculum Management software
  • Data validation and auditing of all critical files and databases before implementation/action
  • Collaborates with OTR and other key partners at SAIT for seamless management of curriculum with Curriclog and publishing of data with Acalog
  • Monitors curriculum change proposal review, updates and submissions in Curriclog and Provider and Program Registry System (PAPRS) to ensure data integrity
  • Monitors OTR curriculum control activities through data entry controls and transparent approval processes to ensure data integrity 
  • Develops and oversees the critical path schedule and production timeline for updating and maintaining curriculum within the office of the registrar while coordinating with the interdependent units across SAIT
  • With the Manager, oversees governance of data elements, and directly accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the data structure
  • Uses technology solutions to create and automate data validation processes to form the foundation of a quality assurance process throughout the SAIT curriculum protocols
  • Acts as the conduit of information connecting all SAIT offices and individuals who participate in the curriculum approval and implementation process

  • Technical Accountabilities - 20%
  • Auditing and creating inventories for functions, tools, and processes to identify areas for improvement
  • Working closely with OTR specialists to understand process specifications, goals, and requirements
  • Deep database management and MS Office tool knowledge and skills to automate and streamline key functions with a focus on data integrity and validation procedures  
  • Creating process maps and QRG’s (Quick reference guides) and the corresponding training presentations for targeted audiences 
  • Designing and implementing tests to ensure the process meets validation checks 
  • Creating test plans, interpreting system requirements, executing test cases, and tracking quality assurance metrics
  • Planning and documenting measures of success and KPI’s for all key processes

  • Service Excellence - 20%
  • Knowledge of adult learning styles and experience building training programs from curriculum development through to measuring learning outcomes
  • Works collaboratively with department and program staff to facilitate and communicate the changes to operational processes while managing expectations
  • Create and build a respectful working environment using professional language, tone, and communication with our diverse body of clients 
  • Expectation of a commitment to intercultural communication. Demonstrate respect for all individuals. Foundational understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusivity and commitment to ongoing learning   

  • Operational Excellence - 20%
  • With the Managers of the department, creates synergies between planning teams by analyzing all of the business processes and combining/integrating processes and practices to improve overall efficiency
  • In depth understanding of the student cycle. Knowledge of SAIT academic policies and procedures and the ability to interpret and translate those into processes and procedures.  
  • The ability to create business procedures to document sound processes and innovate to find efficiencies using technology solutions to automate manual processes
  • Keep student success at the forefront of all analysis and process improvement
  • Ultimately maintaining the integrity of the academic record in recommendations 
  • Using good sound judgement in decision making that lowers risk to institution, stabilizes procedures
  • Required to have knowledge of the student life cycle and understand how their processes impacts enrollments


  • Minimum
  • 4 year post secondary Degree
  • The ability to become proficient with MS Office 365 suite, Banner, Freshdesk, Cisco, and other related technology. 
  • Intermediate MS Excel
  • Be knowledgeable on and follow FOIP regulations, always respecting confidentiality, using good note taking practices.  
  • Demonstrated knowledge and compliance with SAIT safety guidelines, required Job Hazard Analysis and SAIT Safety Policy HS.1.1

  • Preferred
  • Degree in computer science, data analytics
  • Understanding of curriculum governance practices and processes
  • Advance Excel
