Sayari is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager (Product Engineering) to join our Product Engineering department and own the development and execution of QA processes across our stack, focusing on our web UIs and REST APIs. Our ideal candidate is a process-oriented self-starter with extensive experience in the software testing world and interested in working on problems related to corporate transparency, anti money laundering, sanctions evasions, and combating financial fraud. You should pay attention to detail and have the ability to self-detect potential issues. This role offers an excellent opportunity to greenfield the best possible QA stack and processes while working closely with experienced developers.

Our application tier is built primarily in TypeScript, running in Kubernetes, and backed by Postgres, Cassandra, Elasticsearch and Memgraph. The UI is an SPA React app that consumes our REST API. Our data ingest tier runs on Spark, processing terabytes of data collected from hundreds of data sources. The platform allows users to explore a large knowledge graph sourced from hundreds of millions of structured and unstructured records from over 200 countries and 30 languages. As part of this team, you'll have the chance to contribute to our growing library of open source work, including our WebGL-powered network visualization library Trellis: https://sayari-analytics.github.io/trellis/.

• Build and manage a QA team with 1-2 direct reports
• Collaborate with the rest of the development team to manage work and refine requirements and communicate about bugs and fixes
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Development Managers on feature sprint planning
• Write high-quality bug reports
• Create and update automated test cases
• Execute manual checks as needed
• Define what a scalable and effective QA process looks like in the context of our product development life cycle
• Define metrics to track bug quantity and severity over time​​
• Work closely with customer support on production issues triaging
• Define the scope of testing for each release and estimating and managing the test effort of each

• 8+ years experience in designing and executing tests for web-based applications and REST API servers
• 5+ years experience in building QA processes and communicating with Engineering and product departments
• 5+ years experience in evaluating and implementing an automated testing framework
• Understanding of best practices related to QA processes, tooling, and metrics
• Experience with modern UI and API automated testing tooling such as Cypress or Playwright
• Experience working with REST APIs
• Experience in people management involving a team of at least 1-2 direct reports

• Experience with NodeJS, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with Cypher-based graph databases such as Memgraph
• Experience with Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and SQL databases such as PostgreSQL
• Experience with React and tools such as Redux and React Query
• Experience with GitHub Projects
• Experience in a SaaS environment that has an agile development process
