2nd Shift Production Supervisor

This Role:

Our team is currently seeking a people and process-oriented Production Supervisor for our Huntsville, AL

facility. This would be a day shift role reporting to our Production Manager.

What You Will Do:

The Production Supervisor ensures that production timeframes are met through smooth, efficient, and safe production operations. In this effort, the Production Supervisor oversees all aspects of the production floor, including staff, schedules, equipment, and processes.

How You Will Do It:

• Core Accountabilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate all aspects of production and packaging.

• Control WIP inventories.

• Supervise, direct, train and provide leadership for employees in the production department.

• Establish and audit safety, health and environmental programs.

• Ensure compliance with company policy and all health, HR, safety and environmental regulations.

• Establish work procedures in coordination with Engineering and Quality departments.

• Approve employee timesheets.

• Interpret instructions, specifications, or job orders to employees.

• Ensure product is built to engineered specifications.

• Monitor production output and quality data.

• Analyze and resolve work related problems and assist workers in resolving work related problems.

• Make data driven decisions and use root cause analysis to resolve issues.

• Supervises employees engaged in various production activities to meet customer-requested

specifications in a manner to assure quality production at minimal cost in a safe work environment.

Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising

performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues.

• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of

product. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of

workers.

• Conduct health, safety and environmental meetings, train employees on compliance and their

responsibilities in these areas and perform accident investigations/reports.

• Establish and maintain training program for production employees.

• Other duties assigned by management.

• Computer proficiency, including MS Office and MS Outlook. Strong Excel skills required.

• SAP and Oracle Knowledge a plus.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to work flexible hours and travel occasionally.

• Lean Manufacturing Training a plus.

• Hold current and valid U.S. work authorization without requiring future sponsorship (required)

• Can effectively communicate in English (required) and Spanish (preferred)

• Offer previous people leadership experience within a production environment (required)

• Can stand or walk 90% of the day, can consistently reach, bend and move inside the facility to move product (up to 50lb lift) (required)
