The Role


As an Associate Product Manager at Self you will dig deep into the details of a particular product line and become a subject matter expert that Stakeholders rely on. You will work closely with the Product Manager and Engineering Manager to understand business requirements, break these down into component parts, and clearly define work for the Delivery Team. You will drive projects to completion, load balancing new features, bug fixes and paying down technical debt as you deliver tangible results.

 

What You Will Do


  • Develop a deep understanding of your Product domain, meeting regularly with Stakeholders to understand their needs and pain points
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative input to the prioritization and OKR setting process
  • Assist the Product Manager in developing Product Requirement Documents 
  • Help the Delivery Team translate Business Requirements into Technical Solution Documents
  • Set project milestones and target due dates
  • Ensure successful execution of projects, answering questions and unblocking team members as issues arise
  • Communicate regular updates to Stakeholders, including project scope changes
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager and Lead Engineer to write clear tickets, ensure that all in-progress and upcoming work is captured in the Project Management tool (Jira), and assist the Product Manager in story prioritization and backlog grooming
  • Inform product decisions with quantitative and qualitative data on customer behavior and experimentation to prioritize your roadmap
  • Partner with risk, compliance, marketing, engineering, design, analytics and operations teams to formulate solutions and stories collaboratively and inclusively
  • Generate internal and external documentation for your Product
  • Ensure delivered work is understood by all stakeholders by conducting formal release reviews and training frontline staff where appropriate
  • Follow written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities

 

What you Bring


  • 2+ years as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Associate Product Manager, Technical Program Manager, or equivalent experience developing solutions, processes, integrations, economics at a high-growth tech company
  • Familiarity with modern web technologies
  • Familiarity with Jira, Asana, or other Project Management tools
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity and self-direction
  • Prior experience in Fintech a plus
