Senior Backend Developer

• Analyze business requirements, propose, design and implement technical solutions
• Design and development of data architecture and ETL dataflows in support of enterprise risk management, analytics and reporting
• Work effectively with the DBA teams to ensure that all approved development and deployment procedures are followed
• Provide production support from development teams for existing systems, troubleshoot data and/or system issues
• Identify root causes and resolve data related issues
• Review and optimize query performance
• Expert Python with strong SQL and understanding of ETL
• Work with requirements and UI team to design a sound technical solution for development team
• Contribute techniques, knowledge and experience to other developers to enhance overall team productivity
• Turn tickets into solutions, provide estimates on tasks, and assist in decomposing larger sections of work
• Work with other technical stakeholders on the team to determine approaches to new features
• Work within source control utilizing branching, merging, and proper check-in procedures
• Participate in Agile/Scrum workflow process to meet sprint release schedules

• Has 3+ years of back end development experience using the following (or similar) technologies: SQL, Python, Java, .Net
• Experience with Big Data (preferably Spark)
• Exposure to non-relational databases (NoSQL, Document)
• Exposure to Cloud data platforms (preferably AWS)
• Exposure to Distributed architectures and systems
• Extensive experience with database development tools , ETL and integration technologies
• Experience developing large scale systems
• Experience working in controlled development, testing and production environment
• Experience in Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, PL/SQL, ETL processing
• Familiarity with development toolkits & source repositories (preferably GIT)
• Sound understanding of RDBMS

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
• Solid work ethic, self-driven with the ability to work with minimal supervision

• U.S. citizenship is required
• Salary range: $70,000-$92,000/yr DOE
