About the role
We're looking for our first UX Writer to help up-level the user experience for our Performance pillar. This pillar's group of teams own the portfolio of product offerings that come together to help employees learn, grow, and be reward for their contributions. In this role, you'll work cross-functionally to improve the language across our key touch-points and workflows. As the first UX Writer, you'll be instrumental in helping shape a world-class practice that enables our Design team to deliver experiences that solve real-world problems in comprehensible and delightful ways. This role is excellent for UX Writers who excel at strategy, relationship building, and systems-thinking. This role will report to the pillar's Director of Product Design.
If you see the potential of how delightful people management tools can benefit employees and transform a business, this role is for you. You'll:
Partner closely with Product Designers, Researchers, Product Managers, and Engineers to understand user and product needs to design content that is simple, informative, and delightful.
Contribute to your pillar's content strategy and define writing guidelines that can be leveraged by your cross-functional partners.
Write technical documentation for your pillar's portfolio of products.
Who you are
4+ years of UX writing experience: you've contributed to complex workflows and systems, and have worked across multiple product areas with multiple stakeholders.
A strong, yet pragmatic eye: you have a keen eye for the areas we should dive into. You ground your content priorities in things that will drive customer and business value, directly influencing the design and product roadmap.
Autonomous when you need to be: You independently identify content improvement opportunities, scope the work effectively, and advocate to bring it to life. You're also no stranger to the messy middle of the work, converging/diverging, choosing paths forward, and assessing constraints and risk. You consider the technical, product, and business needs of the company with each decision.
Familiar with our structure: You have prior experience working in-house and have worked in an embedded capacity.
A hunger for collaboration: you do your best work when partnering cross-functionally and believe that good writing shouldn't be left to one person, but should be a company-wide practice.
A passion for going beyond the request: you proactively identify opportunities to improve the utility, usability, and desirability of business-critical product experiences. You do this through creating content patterns and style-guides that scale.
A great communicator and collaborator: you’re clear and concise in explaining your thought process and in enumerating the tradeoffs made in your work.
We'd be especially excited if you have...
Experience in People Management software, B2B or SaaS companies with complex offerings
Experience developing and/or leveraging UX metrics to guide content priorities
Experience or familiarity with front-end development
Experience with technical writing
Excitement about building a world-class UX Writing practice!
