Senior Electronics Engineer

  • Senior Electronics Engineer required for advanced product development of consumer products electronic systems, including battery management, charging systems, motor controls and robotics. This includes the design, testing, and development of board-level electronic assemblies.
  • Knowledge in some or all of the following: switch-mode power supply design, electric motor controls, lithium ion battery management, embedded systems, small AC / DC and brushless motors.
  • The role is expected to develop ideas from concept through a structured product development process into mass production.
  • The role requires close co-ordination with software development engineers, technicians, testing department, electronic component suppliers and Asian contract manufacturers.
  • The structured product development process also requires continuous communication with a global team reporting project status (cost, schedule, risk, etc..) and technical information
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure customer requirements are achieved and projects are delivered on time, cost and quality.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum HNC / Degree qualified or equivalent.
  • Significant design experience within a relevant industry. A broad range of experience but ideally with strong all round electronic design skills with software/firmware knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of Analogue and Digital Design including microprocessors/microcontrollers, programmable logic, embedded firmware/software, SMPS design, PCB design and design for EMC, Schematic capture, PCB and simulation using Altium Designer or similar.
  • Design for high volume manufacturing
  • Self motivation with a high degree of creativity and initiative
  • Lateral thinking with the ability to provide realistic and innovative design solutions
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials as they relate to design and manufacturing
  • Available to travel Globally as needed
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; computer literate
