Your Next Career Opportunity – Senior Network Operations Engineer

The primary function of this position is to execute and complete complex projects which include network integrations; First office applications of new devices, products or software; testing of new products and software from an operations perspective; and working with equipment vendors to resolve complex systemic issues. This position is also responsible for acting as the second highest technical level within the Network Operations department.

What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide all provisioning of Gateway/Controller box for all lines of business including DAS equipment, tower lighting equipment, generators, small cell, Wi-Fi and other owned and managed equipment.
  • Responsible for commissioning and acceptance of new sites, backup power (BUP) and retrofit, which includes working with vendor and other third parties in support of the BUP and Build to Suit programs.
  • Perform alarm validation before moving sites from the commissioning server into the production environment.
  • Act as the highest level of escalation for any issues surrounding the configuration of other DAS equipment which includes IP addressing of the DAS equipment and any other equipment as necessary.
  • Provide on call support service to troubleshoot all provisioning and complex issues that are out of the NOC’s scope.
  • Support new and emerging products and services; develop technical job aides while ensuring the integrity of any new service SBA may provide.
  • Act as a technical leader in the identification of difficult and critical network issues.
  • Serve as an authoritative source of technical direction for Network Operations.
  • Act as a technical advocate of Network Operations and represent operational stakeholders in RFP reviews, architecture planning and new projects.
  • Work with the Engineering and Operations tams to develop processes and procedures pertaining to new equipment and new service offerings.
  • Create and provide reports on network uptime metrics.
  • Recommend and periodically review technical field service alerts for increased network performance and improved customer experience. Establish short- and long-term goals for technology solutions and influence positive change.
  • Train other team members on new products and services including network devices or operating systems.
  • Complete circuit provisioning and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Work closely with vendors and other teams to resolve complex systemic issues and review activation/closeout checklist.
  • Work cross functionally with other team members and groups within the organization.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation of network information.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering or computer science related degree preferred;
    • and 5+ years Related Network experience and/or training
  • Five to seven years of experience in DAS operations, IP Networking and supporting Internet Service Provider (ISP) and IXP.
  • Expertise in switching, routing and transport technologies and concepts, particularly as related to Network services.
  • High level of experience of troubleshooting various network related services DHCP, DNS, TFTP, FTP, NTP, SSH, SMTP and SNMP.
  • Proficient in networking technologies to include but not limited to MPLS, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, SNMP, HSRP and Ethernet.
  • Experience with JUNOS, IOS, Sunrays Appliances/Windows Terminal Server.
  • 5+ years troubleshooting higher level network hardware.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Domestic Travel 10% of the time Visit data centers, DAS sites, and other future sites.
  • Valid Government Issued Driver's License
  • CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Professional Req
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Pref
  • Other CCIE (Written - Past or Present) Pref
