Engineering Manager - Initial 6 Month FTC

The Role:

An exciting newly created opportunity has arisen to join our Showpo team as Engineering Manager on an initial 6 month FTC!

As Engineering Manager at Showpo you’ll be overseeing our web, mobile  and backend systems and crafting high-quality software that ultimately scales the growth of our global e-commerce business. In addition you will lead a team of Engineers, offering guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Emphasising teamwork, you'll encourage problem-sharing and resolution, steering your team toward optimal decision-making.

You'll identify areas for improvement, proactively address potential issues, and facilitate skill development within your team. Collaboration with fellow Managers across the company is crucial to ensuring alignment in technology and maximising code reuse. Staying abreast of emerging technologies, you'll play a key role in minimising technical debt by continuously enhancing our systems.

In addition to the above - there will also be some exciting projects for you to work on!

• Experience leading teams, and delivering software
• Prior experience working in an eCommerce company
• Have a strong and relevant technical background. Showpo has web and mobile storefronts so being technically fluent in modern eCommerce stacks is required.. 
• Proficient in cloud hosting environments. Our cloud infrastructure is primarily hosted in AWS, though other platforms supplement core systems, so general proficiency is key!
• Demonstrated experience with databases and data warehouses. We love data and this role will require strong aptitude with various platforms.
• CI/CD including infrastructure provisioning
