Head of Operations

The Role

As Head of Operations at Shuttle, you'll be the driving force behind our operational excellence, scaling our business processes to support rapid growth. You'll optimize our operations, streamline workflows, and ensure efficient resource allocation across the company. You’ll also be involved in financial management and investor relations.

What you'll do

  • Lead strategic initiatives to support Shuttle’s growth and development

  • Drive the development of operational KPIs and metrics by relevant teams

  • Set up and optimize internal processes, workflows, and tools to enhance efficiency across all departments

  • Drive continuous improvement of our effectiveness as a team and organisation and our async-first communication.

  • Develop and implement frameworks to ensure company decisions and processes align with our core values and culture

  • Manage and optimize vendor relationships, contracts, and partnerships

  • Oversee cloud financial operations (FinOps) and working with engineering teams to establish best practices

  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure operational readiness for new features and services

  • Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls

  • Be involved in investor relations and fundraising activities

  • Build and lead a high-performing operations team, fostering a growth mindset culture

Must-haves

  • 5+ years of experience in ops-intensive roles at high-growth tech startup(s)

  • Track record of successful operational scaling in a startup environment

  • Demonstrable examples of taking initiative and driving complex projects to completion

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and mentor high-performing teams

  • Proven track record of implementing and scaling operational processes in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision making

Bonus points

  • Experience of working in a cloud enabled company, good understanding of its impact on it business processes and ability to effectively collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure decisions

  • Knowledge of AI/ML operations and their impact on business processes

  • Knowledge of financial planning and main KPIs (including cloud cost optimization and unit economics)

  • Track record of successful fundraising support or financial strategy in a startup environment

  • Familiarity with a programming language or strong interest in learning

  • Experience with remote-first company operations

  • Experience as a founder

  • Base Salary: $80,000-$120,000 per annum
