Freelancer Audio Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Freelancer Audio Engineer to support us during an exciting and busy time for us. You will be responsible for the smooth running of games dialogue recording sessions for a multitude of games, from indie mobile to AAA console, helping to ensure the timely completion of agreed deliverables and milestones, to a very high standard. As an outsourcer, it is this that brings clients back, and it’s returning clients that keep the awards coming.

Based at SIDE's London HQ the successful candidate would be responsible for engineering games dialogue sessions in one of SIDE's London recording studios, working on often BAFTA award winning games.

The successful candidate must have extensive client facing experience and a really solid all round technical background, as well as a good set of ears.

It is vital that candidates are sufficiently technically minded across the board to be able to apply themselves to a range of skills and generally problem solve in a self-supporting manner.

  • Engineer studio sessions – from wild dialogue recording to full mixing.
  • experience as an engineer in a commercial postproduction recording studio, ideally working for some time with dialogue / ADR recording.
  • Experienced user of Pro Tools and other DAWs.
  • 100% comfortable with and enthused by audio / video / IT technology in general.
  • Excellent client facing and internal communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Both a self-starter, able to work alone as and where necessary, and a team player, able to muck in at all levels to get the job done.
  • Comfortable with taking instruction from senior members of staff and giving instruction to junior members of staff.
  • Day rate of £150 - 200 per day based on experience level
