Professional English to Filipino Localization Translator (Experience is a must)

You will be responsible for the correct localization of video game content and other associated text from English into Filipino. You will work following product specific guidelines to ensure the maximum linguist quality and adherence to all relevant conventions. You will be working as part of a team to produce high quality translations, either translating yourself or reviewing.

As a member of the Translation Team you will report into the Project Management team and must work closely with internal and external translators. As a Translator you have no direct reports.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Creates or helps create glossaries and style guides following pre-defined guidelines from the client.
  • Creates or helps create characterization documents
  • Carries out translation work following provided guidelines and instructions, including First Party terminology.
  • Carries out revision work following provided guidelines and instructions, including First Party terminology.
  • All work is carried out meeting the outlined deadlines and industry standard productivity figures.
  • Provides linguistic feedback for work carried out externally.
  • Works as part of a larger team of translators or revisers.


Must have at least one year experience in translation industry - English to Filipino (video games specific experience is an advantage)

  • Experience in any of the following areas is essential:  creative text, fiction book or magazine translations, translating TV/media series/subtitling, and localization quality control. 
  • Ideally with experience working with MemoQ, and TMS software (Plunet/XTRF).
  • Clear and effective communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrates proactivity.
  • Good organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Keeps a “can do” attitude and positive thinking.
