Job Description

As a Delivery Lead for Data Solutions, you will be pivotal in driving the successful delivery of our client's data migration and reporting initiative. You will work closely with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and translate their needs into clear and actionable data requirements. You will then be responsible for crafting and refining detailed user stories in Jira, ensuring they are well-understood and ready for the development team. Furthermore, you will oversee internal testing efforts by reviewing code and data to ensure quality and alignment with requirements, and you will facilitate the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process with business stakeholders and the Product Owner to ensure the delivered solutions meet their expectations. You will serve as a critical link between the business and technical teams, ensuring that the developed data solutions effectively address business needs and provide value to the client

Pathway to Success

Success in this role hinges on your ability to effectively gather and translate business needs into comprehensive data requirements and well-defined user stories. You will be measured by the clarity and quality of your user stories, your effectiveness in facilitating communication and understanding between business and technical teams, and your ability to ensure the successful delivery of data solutions that meet business objectives through rigorous testing and successful UAT. Building strong collaborative relationships with team members and stakeholders, including the PM, client's team, and the Product Owner, will also be key in this role

Expectations

Required Travel - Limited travel may be required to client sites for key meetings and workshops.

Customer Facing - You will interact with clients on a regular basis, (often daily). Common touchpoints occur during requirements gathering sessions, user story validation, solution demonstrations, and UAT sessions . You can expect to interact with a range of customer stakeholders, including business analysts, power users, and potentially technical project managers and executives

Collaboration - Regular collaboration with internal team members including project managers, data engineers, and developers is crucial to ensure alignment between business requirements, technical implementation, and successful delivery . You will also work closely with the Product Owner throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical Leadership and Data Expertise: 5+ years of experience in data-related roles, demonstrating expertise in data analysis, technical solution design, and data architecture. 
  • SQL Proficiency: Strong proficiency with SQL for data analysis, including the ability to write complex queries, understand existing code, and troubleshoot data issues.
  • Cloud Platform Experience: Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically BigQuery.
  • Business Requirements Translation: Demonstrated ability to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, translating them into clear and actionable technical specifications and user stories.
  • Data Architecture: Experience in designing and implementing the flow of data between systems.
  • Agile Project Experience: Proven experience working in Agile environments including user story creation, backlog management, and sprint participation. 
  • Stakeholder Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and business needs to technical teams.

“Nice to Have” Qualifications:

  • Python Programming: Experience with Python programming for data manipulation, analysis, and scripting.
  • Delivery Leadership Experience: Previous experience in a formal Delivery Lead or Project Management role, with responsibility for end-to-end project delivery.
  • Consulting Experience: Previous experience working in a consulting environment, particularly in client-facing roles
  • SAP Experience: Familiarity with SAP data structures and reporting.
  • Specific Tools: Experience with specific data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
  • Technical Leadership: Previous experience in a technical leadership role, guiding development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and Document Requirements: Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders, translating them into clear, detailed, and actionable data requirements and technical specifications.
  • Create User Stories: Write and refine comprehensive user stories in Jira, capturing both business needs and technical implementation details, informed by analysis of existing data structures and logic.
  • Facilitate Communication: Act as a liaison between business users, the Product Owner, and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on requirements and solutions.
  • Oversee Quality Assurance: Oversee internal testing efforts, reviewing code and data to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to requirements.
  • Manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Plan, coordinate, and facilitate UAT sessions with business stakeholders and the Product Owner, ensuring successful validation of deliverables.
  • Track and Communicate Progress: Document and communicate requirements, project status, and progress to various stakeholders, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks and challenges.
  • Propose Solutions: Identify potential risks and roadblocks to meeting business needs and proactively propose effective solutions.
  • Drive Solution Delivery: Support the successful implementation and delivery of reporting solutions that meet defined business needs and quality standards
