About the Role:

The Core Data Platform engineering team is responsible for building the services and datastores that enable us to build highly scalable services. From the initial ingestion of customer records, we strive to ensure our core models satisfy the varying needs of our internal teams and diverse customer base. This in itself is a challenge but it’s only the beginning. Once we have ingested the data, we are then tasked with making sense of it and storing it in consumable way, allowing our product teams to action on it instantaneously. The Core Data Platform team also takes full ownership of analytics, building large scale data processing jobs to transform disparate data into clean, structured and well managed datasets.

What You’ll Do:

Develop new features, discuss and design software solutions with a motivated and experienced team
Work collaboratively to implement and bring technically difficult concepts to reality
Develop user cases, user stories, design and architecture specifications
Demonstrate a high level of curiosity and keep abreast of the latest technologies
Improve and provide innovative solutions

What You Need to Succeed:

4+ years experience designing and building microservices and big data solutions
Understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization techniques
Experience in building scalable systems in Java and related technologies
Experience building highly optimized REST-based APIs and building scalable systems in Java
Experience working with microservices, Kafka, CI/CD, Jenkins, Git and Docker
Experience working with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, Redis, and Elasticsearch and relational database experience such as Postgres

Additional Skills That Could Set You Apart:

Developing in Spark.
Big Data systems such as Hive, Oozie and Hadoop
Configuration management tools such as Ansible
