The Size and Fit Director is the expert for Patagonia’s strategy and execution of fit consistency and fit inclusivity. Proven team leadership abilities and relevant technical size and fit skills are required. The role includes leading strategic sizing and fit projects, ensuring a consistent brand viewpoint, while preventing subjective and varying execution. This role guides product creation groups to achieve a proper balance of comfort, functionality, and sizing standards, while maintaining the integrity and spirit of aesthetic fit. The position communicates fit strategy to key stakeholders, executive team, marketing, ecommerce, and customer service centers. A proactive and positive working style is critical to take ownership in this space and work to build new and improved processes in collaboration with various cross functional partners. Creating and maintaining the balance of fulfilling work and a thriving team are key to this role.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead projects with clear communication, collaboration, and execution of the holistic size & fit strategy.
  • Effectively prioritize sizing and fit initiatives to align with business priorities and team resources.
  • Ensure roles and responsibilities are clear across the team and with cross functional partners.
  • Evolve fit consistency tools and standards to be relevant to all product categories and business goals.
  • Establish and lead inclusive fit and grading direction across product categories, for optimization at scale.
  • Frequent collaboration with Product Commercialization, Product Development, Product Design, Product Quality, and Product Line Management.
  • Creating and delivering effective presentations to all levels of the organization.
  • Lead size and fit team with integrity, empathy, advocacy, and mentorship.
  • Identify opportunities for, and successfully implement, process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Oversee the technical fit direction for a complex and diverse product range.
  • Partner with customer facing teams to effectively communicate size and fit information to the Patagonia community.
  • Partner closely with the Digital Product Creation Team to leverage 3D technology for fitting, ideation, and product validation.

Experience You Bring:
  • 10+ years experience in pattern making, grading, and fit.
  • 10+ years of executive management experience leading teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations.
  • Excellent understanding of the apparel commercialization process from inception through production.
  • Proven experience working with groups in respectful and equitable ways.
  • Excellent leadership and teaching skills.
  • Global knowledge on appropriate fits per market.
  • Skill set in 3D pattern creation, virtual fitting, and virtual try-on.
  • College degree in Patternmaking, Technical Design, or equivalent in industry experience.

Pay range: $ 133,912.10 - $223,186.84 USD
Hiring range: $170,000-$190,000 USD
At Patagonia, pay ranges are assigned to a job based on the location specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.
