Your team

You will join our User Experience (UX) team as our new Senior User experience/User Interface (UX/UI) Designer. You will be part of an join an expert UX team who champions user-centered design, driving product success through insightful research and intuitive interface development.

Also, you will work in an international environment of ±65 SkillLabers from ±30 different countries in the heart of Amsterdam.

You will directly report to Dan, who is the UX Lead.

The UI/UX professionals that make the UX team so special are GiuliaDimas, and Lorenzo.

You will also cooperate with our product management, engineering and Data science teams within the product function.

Your responsibilities

  • You will be the UX owner of one or more of SkillLab’s major enterprise clients. You will work with clients and internal stakeholders to align on scope, product definition, and co-create design solutions.
  • You will contribute to the development of new features and products by understanding clients' needs through engagement workshops, concept development and iterative user research.
  • You will work at different design altitudes to map out user journeys, create end-to-end flows, and produce detailed user interface design specifications for implementation.
  • You will maintain and evolve our design system; introduce new components and adapt existing components to accommodate new functionality while maintaining interoperability with existing components.
  • You will identify opportunities for foundational user research, and define, scope, plan and execute research with support from a dedicated User Experience Researcher.

Your skills

  • 5+ years of work experience in User Experience Design or a related role, eg. User Interface, Interaction, Graphic, or Product design, etc. Combined experience in building products in-house and working with external clients will be highly appreciated.
  • Arabic language knowledge at a native level.
  • Ability to present and advocate for design decisions with clients and stakeholders, ensuring alignment between user needs and business objectives.
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles.
  • Proficiency in Figma design and prototyping.
  • Data-informed approach to making design decisions, leveraging usability testing, usage analytics, market research, etc.
  • Flexibility and agility to adapt to changing requirements, and the initiative and leadership to create clarity from uncertainty
  • Experience working directly with product managers and software engineers to maintain and use design systems

  • Experience planning and executing formative and evaluative UX research
  • Experience working with HR tech, E-learning or matching platforms
  • Expertise in designing user experiences informed by best-practices of designing for ML- and recommender-based systems

Salary, start-date & location

  • We use a salary benchmark for the Dutch high-tech sector to set your salary based on your experience. We expect that the annual gross salary for the experience we are looking for ranges from 55k-65k Euro per year.
  • We accept applications on a rolling basis, and we envision a start date as soon as possible.
  • You will enjoy 25 paid vacation days per year (20 days as the statutory minimum holiday entitlement in the Netherlands plus 5 extra days from SkillLab).
  • You can work flexibly from our office in Amsterdam and home within the Netherlands. You can also extend your holiday stay in a different country and work from abroad for a limited period of time.
  • You will get an extensive relocation support to move to Amsterdam including visa sponsorship if needed, 30% ruling, your plane tickets, covered real estate agent fees etc.
  • You will have a personal learning budget to invest in your professional development.
