Software Engineer (Platform) (Remote)

The Software Engineer’s primary focus is to apply the principles of engineering to software development. This role includes analyzing and modifying existing software as well as designing, constructing and testing end-user applications that meet user needs through software programming languages. You will work with developers to deploy and manage code changes, and with operations staff to ensure that systems are up and running smoothly. You will be responsible for the software development life cycle, processes, and tools, from coding to development to maintenance and updates.

Responsibilities: 

• Define and manage software tools, source control systems and build/delivery pipelines.
• Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline).
• Review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project.
• Develop, test, and debug code/scripts for build, packaging, and deployment of both server and cloud-based applications.
• Participate in coding of software products; Solve technical problems.
• Enhance testing and development procedures and tools to boost team output and raise the caliber of our output.
• Build and set up new development tools and infrastructure.
• Develop features and improvements to the platform in a secure, well-tested and performant way, with minimal guidance and support from other team members.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams such as the Backend and QA engineers to deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Identify and advocate for improvements to both product quality and team efficiency.
• Conduct code reviews.
• Participate in on-call rotations to assist troubleshooting product operations and urgent engineering issues.
• Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and trend analysis; managing periodic reporting on the progress to the management.
• Troubleshoot techniques and fix the code bugs.
• Incidence management and root cause analysis.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience 
• 5-7 years’ experience with Platform and/or DevOps engineering
• Backend engineering experience required
• Linux OS Experience / Kernel development
• Experience with JavaScript, Typescript, Node.js, and Terraform
• Exemplify technical expertise 
• Experience working with Cloud platforms such as AWS
• Familiarity creating, implementing, supporting, and maintaining changes to the CI/CD pipeline using GitLab
