Software Engineer - Data

About the role:

Our data engineering team is our “Special Ops” team that is responsible for taking raw information and turning it into actionable insights. We are looking for critical thinkers and problem solvers with a keen interest in private capital markets and cracking complex data puzzles.

What you'll do:

Members of this team are expected to be able to quickly translate the questions of Aumni’s customers into answers using advanced technologies combined with their own ingenuity.

Thus, no prior data engineering experience is required (though it is helpful!) — what we are really looking for are people who can break a complicated problem down into component steps and solve each one efficiently.

We will teach you the fundamentals of data engineering and its best practices to help guide your solutions — we believe that quality code is paramount and we build it with stringent testing, code reviews and linters.

This position is for Salt Lake City (Cottonwood Heights), UT or 100% remote.

About you:

• 1+ years solving data problems through any of the following technologies
• Relational database
• NoSQL database
• Python
• Advanced Microsoft Excel or other relevant solutions
• Working in Agile methodologies (we work in 2-week sprints)
• Object-oriented or functional programming paradigms

Bonus points if you have experience with any of the following:

• SQL
• ETL/ELT Orchestration
• Large dataset manipulation
• Snowflake
• Python
• Docker/Kubernetes or containerization in general
• ETL (Airflow)
• Large dataset manipulation
• Microservices architecture
• Security testing best practices and tools
• Stress testing and scaling services

Skills:
